Yamaha and Farthing Racing join forces for 2012
Yamaha and Farthing Racing Add 2 World
Champion Riders to PWC Race Team in 2012
Tim Neff and Ryan Hardwick Will Race the Yamaha FZR on Major World and National
Personal Watercraft Race Circuits This Year
KENNESAW, GA — JANUARY 13, 2012 — Yamaha WaterCraft Group, together with
Farthing Racing and Mountain Motorsports, today announced the addition of multi-time world
and national champion riders Ryan Hardwick and Tim Neff to its race team for 2012.
Hardwick and Neff bring decades of competition experience and a long list of major titles to
the table for Yamaha and Farthing Racing in 2012.
Hardwick took home the 2010 APBA National Pro Stock title as well as a string of World
Titles in the Expert Runabout 1200 class over the past few years. In addition, Hardwick has
partnered with Dustin Farthing of Farthing Racing in the opening and success of three
motorsports dealerships. The team is currently working to expand the line of Farthing Racing
performance parts, and is putting the finishing touches on its latest dealership in the Atlanta
area.
“I’m thrilled to be competing on a Yamaha FZR and with Farthing Racing in 2012,” said
Hardwick. “Due to the close proximity of our dealership and Farthing Racing to Yamaha we
look forward to taking what is already one of the fastest boats on the water and making it
even faster.”
Also joining the team is the 2009 Pro-Am Runabout Stock World Champion Tim Neff, who
has been competing and riding the Yamaha FZR over the past few years. Neff has achieved
world titles in the Expert Superstock and Expert Limited classes in addition to his recent Pro-
Stock World title.
“I’ve put the Yamaha FZR through its paces over the past year and the combination of its 1.8
liter engine, its NanoXcel hull and its lightweight, durable construction makes it the boat to
beat on the closed course,” said Neff. “Now to be able to ride under Farthing Racing and to
team with Dustin and Ryan this year, I think we will see a great boat and a great team of
riders move the sport of PWC racing up another notch.”
“We are 100% committed to winning this year,” said Dustin Farthing, multi-time world
champion and founder of Farthing Racing. “The passion this team brings to racing along
with experience and technical expertise is going to make for a very exciting year of racing.”
